Gleaming Proudly

" Gleaming Proudly "

by Suzán Jiván

The putative aura
of chunky forms
laminated with plastic
as special status
stacked
like falling ladders
gleaming proudly
Torn and gouged
stained and splattered
after being bent over backward
on monochromed grounds
suggesting collapse
as less nostalgically
fragmented
like latter-day maps
Scratched and ragged
no-nonsense stares
stoically exalted
when grasped
hand-over-hand
in all-over patterns
of top-ranked talent...
