being kept at arm's length
with cries of, " Shame! "
to all couch potatoes
kicking sand in your face
during at-home vacations
as barriers to NATO
in role play
like admiring ladies
with calls to clap or laugh
overt and eagerly answered
while begging for a hand
accelerating and decelerating
as sneakers squeak
and cockatoos crests droop
heralding the entrance
of someone who never enters
tied together as a genuine duet
quite literally tongue-in-cheek
as a joke with some teeth...
