The bleating of sheep
lacking teeth
like the weak
beneath sheets
as secretive creatures
getting smeared
on hind feet
early in spring
with milky secretions
over a mile from water
in the advent
of thunderstorms
like reluctant jumpers
flushed from cover
during habitat destruction
camouflaged by colors
when crawling under
lush shrubs of summer
spending warm months
in clumps growing plump...
