Crudely Made, Mostly of Clay

" Crudely Made, Mostly of Clay "

Performed on YouTube

Crudely made, mostly of clay
with open and closed quotations
both flat and molded over
am acidic tradition
implying great distance
and darkness within
a bug-eyed fish
fragmented by shimmers
brandishing instances
a long way since
in sand-filled crystal
and glassy gypsum
Elegantly unfinished
sinking and re-emerging
having both lungs and gills
with an extra trump trick
counted as a winner
in a leadership transition
of narrative nonfiction
as public opinion
like unfettered drips
of possibility
in pre-existence
Subsequently different
curving spherically
during weathering
as solid specimens
of clear members
like re-entrance
of phosphorescence
with the coloration of flame
tending to remain
as isolated celestite
With the highest refinement
of time-stretching alignment
while musing on science
freely improvised as airtight
along a boundary line
like a kind of tidy
easily identified
supreme irony
flourishing despite
desires to flee
from symbols
of decency
with fatigue
and irreverency
for the atrocities
of families
smashed in mass
as is currently
the fashion
Thought to be extinct
while breeding colonially
along the Gulf Stream
quietly out at sea
rising high
with rapid wingbeats
then plummeting
picking squid
and little fish
with a small bill
off a cliff...
